Respecting and remaining rooted in Indigenous ways of knowing and being and recognizing the impacts of colonization and residential schools, we will support Indigenous Peoples in reclaiming personal and community wellness. Wakata’Kari:Te exists and operates on traditional Lekwungen and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples territories

To support Indigenous Peoples impacted by exploitation and human trafficking have access to resources that facilitate safety, balance, wholeness and re-connection.

General Information

Rooted in Indigenous Ways of Knowing and Being, Resiliency Rising supports Indigenous Peoples in reclaiming personal and community wellness.

Wakata’kari:te Resiliency Rising offers support services to individuals and groups who have been impacted by abuse and exploitation and seek to reclaim wellness and balance.

For Individuals, we offer

  • One-on-one counselling that is trauma informed and indigenous-centered
  • Facilitation of wrap-around services (we help you identity the services available to you, such as shelter, health care, dental care,
  • legal services, addiction support, and education)
  • Advocacy for indigenous clients (we help you access services that are culturally supportive)
  • Advocacy within the child welfare system
  • Job skill mentoring and placement
  • Holistic healing support (working with Elders, cultural support programs, drumming, crafting and more)
  • Sexual health education
  • Safe home studies (for adoptions, foster families, family reunification)
